The main focus of my work is landscapes, both internal and external, and mapping my journeys through these.

My work has developed from working figuratively, directly from the land, to exploring and expressing my journeys through internal landscapes, to my  present work in which I explore my internal experiences of the external landscape.

I am fascinated  by the themes of journeys, maps and the thresholds, the liminal spaces that we are constantly traversing both literally as well as metaphorically throughout our lives.

I let my paintings evolve organically, with the process of development recorded in the layers as I re work the painting to reflect what it is I am articulating. I work with this process both in my studio as well as 'en plein air' on site in the land.

I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.” Georgia O’Keeffe
